Sport Photography Guide:
How to Choose the Right Camera?:
When it comes to shooting sports and events, fast and accurate autofocus is crucial. High-end DSLRs are still the best choice for autofocus performance, both in terms of their ability to track moving subjects, and accuracy in low light.
A fast frame rate can be very useful when shooting sports. Some high-end interchangeable lens cameras can shoot at 10 frames per second and above, but you should find that 5 or 6fps for 20 or more images in a burst is adequate.
To recap, Speed is crucial when shooting sports. A good AF system and fast maximum frame rate is essential when shopping for a camera to shoot sports. A monopod will help support the weight of your long telephoto lenses, too.
