Complex Functions Made Simple

Scene Intelligent Auto mode

The Rebel line of Canons has produced some incredible cameras such as the T3. These are considered “budget” or beginner DSLR’s but in actuality, they are packed with features and unless you are a pro, you won’t need much more in a DSLR. They also have the ability to take video.

Unlike many of the reviewers on here, I don’t have another DSLR camera to compare this one to. It’s my first, but what I want to do is approach this review from the pov of a first-time DLSR user. I kinda have no choice, eh? But what I mean is, instead of going on about specifics, I am looking at how easy was it for a beginner like me to use this camera.

I purchased the “base kit” from another retailer because of the ability to “finance” it over 6 months with no interest. The price was higher, but it was totally worth it. I finally got my first DSLR, which I use for personal reasons and as a blogger. A DSLR is a must-have for any blogger.

Good luck!

Buying a video camera can be a huge investment. I personally didn’t want to just go to my local store and buy just any / or the latest model out there just because it was on sale that week… there is a huge variety of cameras (most people can use their phone) but if you need to take video for an extended period time, you should now what you’re getting. There were many things to consider before purchasing; what was I using it for, what features I need, what format (HD or standard) and what recording medium.

I have had this camera almost 2 months, and I am very happy and satisfied with the camera. This is my first DSLR and now when I go out my family fights me for the camera and I’m getting less and less time. I’m glad they are developing a passion for my new hobby as well.

Pleasantly surprised!

So far, I am very pleased with the T5. I will admit that I was skeptical, as I have been using a Nikon D40 for the last 4 years (which has been great, but starting to have some lens issues!) and never liked using my sister’s Canon XSi. It took me several days to get used to the button layout, but overall, the camera felt comfortable and almost familiar in my hands.

Best camera I’ve ever owned!! I love this Canon EOS Rebel T5 DSLR camera! I’ve never owned a DSLR before and thought it was high time I did. I’ve been using a point and shoot before, which took great pictures, but I wanted something that I could interchange the lenses with. My boyfriend bought me this for my birthday and I’m so very happy he did. Takes beautiful pictures. I’m still learning all the settings, and how to use them to my advantage, but I will post a couple practice shots I took with it.

Excellent entry DSLR.
