Really easy to use and learn. It has guided mode built in to show you along. Also, as a beginner DSLR it has a lot going for it. Tons and tons of features. Touchscreen, articulating scree, wifi, Bluetooth, 24 MP sensor same as higher end models such as the T7i, 9 point focus system. And to top it all off it’s very small and light. Smallest dslr canon makes. Pick it up you will love it. I transferred the pictures to my phone and they look so much better than the iPhone pictures I take. Please take a look for yourself.

I love this camera. It is very light and takes great photos even on the auto modes. I haven’t begun to try all the features yet.

I’ve had an SL1 since the camera came out in 2013. Love the camera because it’s so small and lightweight but still works with all my EF and EFS lenses. So when the SL2 was announced I ordered it right away. It arrived yesterday. The kit lens (on the SL2) is much smaller and lighter than my EFS 17-55 lens (on the SL1). More later when I’ve had some time to take and compare photos.

Great "Next Level" camera

Great “Next Level” camera. This is a really great way to move up past point and shoot. One reason is ease of operation. It features a nice touch screen that tells you how to do many of the complicated things you need to know if you want a more advanced camera. The same screen doubles as a way to use touch screen photography. I had the SL 1 and it had one of the earliest best touch screens Canon had..You can flip through your pictures and enlarge the images ,just like a cell phone. Now the screen flips out, a nice improvement.

Do you want a smaller camera – DON’T buy a mirrorless -> buy this SL2 !!! Several months ago I injured my back and arm, and could not carry my 7Dmii, so I bought a mirrorless camera – ugh, what an expensive let down. So I decided to try this guy – WOW, all the perks of the DSLR in a tiny package, and great tiny price. This camera is super easy and fun to use, my picture quality has been fantastic. Great for running kids and dogs, lots of fun scene modes to play with – and it fits in my purse. I have paired my SL2 with a Tamron 18-270 and it is still smaller than my mirrorless. This is a great extra camera for advanced camera people, and a great first DSLR for beginners.

Great upgrade from the SL1. Just because its smaller than most cameras, doesnt mean its not as good as them. Wifi, NFC, and bluetooth, awesome. Canon’s app works great. Can save photos to your phone quickly. AF is quick. LCD screen is clear. Tips from the camera help an amateur like me.

Phenomenal.

Incredible camera and excellent upgrade value from the SL1. The autofocus is so fast, the flipping screen is amazing, and the wifi+Bluetooth makes this camera so accessible and convenient to use. Phenomenal.

A lightweight fun new addition to the EOS line up.

Been waiting for this little beauty for some time now. An easy to carry fun camera addition to my EOS camera line up. Wanted to have something small with a lot of fun features to take when traveling light, and I found it in the SL2 body. Works well with a few of my existing lighter lenses.
